GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS
The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on the 25th May 2018 and replaces the Data Protection Act of 1998. GDPR is a piece of legislation that aims to unify data protection for all EU nationals.
Greater Manchester Academies Trust takes its responsibility under the new regulation extremely seriously to ensure that we meet and comply with our obligations in its use, processing and holding of personal data.
Under the new regulation, you as the data subject have new rights to:
1. Access information that companies hold on them
2. Understand how your data is managed
3. Provide specific consent for how and when your data is used and stored
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is responsible for enforcing this new regulation and Manchester Communication Academy is registered under the Greater Manchester Academies Trust with the ICO as a data controller. Please find below our ICO Certificate, for your reference.
